The new Formula One season is upon us, and that means the start to another drama filled betting season. If you have never bet on formula one or auto racing in general before, here are some tips to get you started in the right direction!
Bet the favorites
If you look at the past few Formula One seasons, how often does the favorite win? Almost every time, right? Usually after practice and qualifying, you will have a pretty good idea about who the contenders for the race will be, and people who are slow in practice rarely race well. Stick to betting on the favorites
Prop bets
It is usually a bad idea to make proposition bets on any form of auto racing, and Formula One racing is no different. So many things can happen during a formula one race or even a whole season, so it is bet not to make proposition bets that would be profitable in other forms of sports
Skip the first few races
Finally, it may be a good idea to just skip the first few races and wait until some trends are established before you start betting. Who would have though Braun racing would actually be a contender in 2009, let alone the champion? Wait until the strong teams separate themselves from the pack before you start placing bets.
